The Was is an ancient Egyptian symbol depicting a staff made from a dried bull’s penis that was the symbol of power and dominion.

The scepters, which were often actually made of wood, had the head and forked tail of an unidentified animal, possibly related to Seth (who has the head of a similar unidentified animal).
