What is a Bath Tea & How to Use One

|

By Morningbird

A bath tea is an herbal bath with both healing and magickal applications. To create a bath tea, herbs are placed in a cloth bag and water is poured over the bag as the tub is filled to infuse the water with the properties of the herbs within the bag.

How it’s Used?

The bag may also be placed directly into the bathwater with the bather.

Bath teas are a convenient way to apply herbs’ magickal or medicinal properties to an individual’s entire body. They make for easy cleanup and since they can be made ahead of time, you can always have your favorite bath tea ready for those days when you need an herbal treatment but perhaps aren’t feeling well enough to put one together.

The bag itself can be a small cotton or muslin bag for easy composting when you are finished with it. Recycled old pantyhose also works well for this purpose.

These herbal bath bags also make a great gift.

Bath teas may also contain salt, epsom salts, baking soda and other ingredients.
